MU's 1,250-acre Columbia, Missouri campus is maintained year-round as a botanical garden. Outdoors, the MKT Trail offers walkers, joggers, hikers and bikers nine miles of all-season, crushed limestone paths with easy, on campus access.

What's going on here anyway?

A lot. MU hosts an amazing array of events: Division 1 college sports, concerts, performances. Columbia sponsors two film festivals: Citizen Jane showcasing films made by women and True/False for documentaries. Columbia even sponsors its own Roots 'N Blues 'N BBQ Festival with big name acts and food to match.

Fields of Dreams

Mizzou's men and women athletic squads perennially contend for top national rankings. In July 2012, the Tigers join the high profile Southeastern Conference.

State-of-the-art Student Facilities

Mizzou's new Student Center is second to none. Bistros, books, lattes, lounges, computer banks, bank banks - the works. The Student Recreational Center at MU was named #1 in the nation by Sports Illustrated.

College town, educated townspeople

More than half of Columbians have a bachelor's degree, over a quarter hold graduate degrees, making it the 13th most highly educated municipality in the U.S.

Columbia has been ranked as high as the second-best place to live in the U.S. on Money Magazine's annual list. Newsweek's The Daily Beast rates it the nation's 17th best place to relocate.
