Dr. Quinn Johnson Named MU Anesthesiology Chair

On Nov. 1, Dr. Quinn Johnson’s interim appointment as chair of the anesthesiology department was made permanent. Quinn, a graduate of the execMBA’s inaugural cohort (class of 2014), was appointed by interim MU School of Medicine dean James Stannard, who commented on his strong leadership qualities, and his commitment to both patient care and research. Nathan Rockholm Promoted to US Navy Commander [Military Promotion]

Trulaske execMBA student and Naval Officer Lieutenant Commander Nathan Rockholm (class of ’17) was recently promoted to Commander in a private ceremony at Busch Stadium in St. Louis. Nathan is currently stationed at Scott Air Force Base in Illinois where he is a Joint Mobility and Strategic Plans Officer in the United States Transportation Command. He will be transferring to the Navy Recruiting District in St. Louis in May 2016 where he will check in as the Executive Officer. In his new role, Nathan will lead a team of Navy and civilian personnel in the selection and hiring of Enlisted and Officer candidates for the full spectrum of Naval service. He and his team will be responsible for all recruiting efforts in Kansas, Missouri and Illinois. (more…)

Orientation 2015 | We’ll Show You Class of 2017

The countdown is over and it’s finally time for this fall’s cohort to convene on the University of Missouri campus and meet their new peers. Over the next 21 months, these 33 professionals will become classmates, colleagues, teammates, mentors, confidantes, and friends. Here’s a look at some of their orientation activities as they embark on their execMBA journey and begin their first classes!

Pre-Orientation: Tour of the Mizzou Campus

To kick off our orientation residency, we invited incoming students to join us on campus for a tour of the University of Missouri. About 25% of execMBA students are MU alumni, but for many candidates, orientation is the first opportunity they have to visit campus! Special thanks to the Mizzou Tour Team and our guide, Kathleen. PHI Air Medical Names Kurt Williams Area Operations Manager

Congratulations to execMBA alumnus Kurt Williams (class of 2014), who was just named Area Operations Manager at PHI Air Medical. In his new role at PHI, where he previously served as Air Medical Base Supervisor, Kurt will manage aviation operations at nine programs in four states, Indiana, Tennessee, Ohio, and Michigan. This will involve overseeing all day-to-day aviation operations of helicopter air ambulance bases within the cooperative programs of the company. He will also supervise the startup of new bases within the company, providing qualified pilots and overseeing training processes. (more…)

Trevor Mitchell Named Mensa Director of Membership

Today, American Mensa announced the appointment of Trevor Mitchell, execMBA class of 2016, as Director of Membership and Strategy. In his new position, Trevor will oversee the development of strategies to continue the organization’s growth. He will also work with the technology department to update the organization’s digital infrastructure. According to American Mensa Executive Director Pamela Donahoo, “Trevor’s vast experience in growing membership, developing new programs and enhancing existing ones will be a real asset to the Association.”

Trevor commented that he looks forward to working with an organization with such a great reputation and culture. Congratulations to Trevor on this exciting new opportunity! We look forward to hearing about his experiences with Mensa as he begins his second year in the program. (more…)

Scott Thompson named Manager of Financial Planning at Bunge

At the end of last year, Scott Thompson (class of 2016) was promoted to Manager of Financial Planning & Analysis at Bunge North America, a division of Bunge Limited. In this new role, he will focus on forward looking reporting including: budgeting, forecasting, and analytic supporting existing business and growth opportunities. He will help improve management reporting processes including annual strategic, CAPEX and business plans. (more…)

Katie Holley takes VP Position at ConAgra Foods

We are proud to announce that execMBA alum, Katie Holley, has accepted a position as Vice President, Sales – Grocery at ConAgra Foods, in Bentonville, AR. We congratulate Katie and look forward to seeing her thrive in this new position! According to a ConAgra representative:

Katie comes to ConAgra most recently from the Kellogg Company where she was Director, Customer Development for Walmart International. In that role, she effectively led the strategic development of joint business plans with Walmart International and Kellogg’s in-country teams. She started with Kellogg’s in 2007, and served in numerous leadership roles within the snacks division before transitioning into Customer Development. Prior to Kellogg’s, she spent 10 years with Kraft Foods. Katie started her career as a sales representative in central Illinois, and eventually advanced within the organization to leadership roles driving sales, logistics, and marketing resources.  She holds a Master of Business Administration, as well as a Bachelor of Science degree in Agriculture, from the University of Missouri – Columbia, Missouri.
