The execMBA recently launched its brand new Professional Advancement Series (PAS). This comprehensive course spans the 21 months of the program, covering topics that are not strictly academic but rather that address students’ professional development. This highly-personalized series includes outcomes and action plans designed to focus on “promotability” characteristics, and is customized according to each candidate’s needs.
What’s new with the Professional Advancement Series?
Our students gave us feedback and we listened. They wanted more content focused on professional development, more one-on-one executive coaching, and more opportunities to network with each other and corporate contacts. We’re partnering with The IMPACT Group to bring this new programming to execMBA candidates. The concepts and theories included in the new PAS are designed to maximize professional growth. Here are some examples of sessions and workshops included:
- Reinventing You: Promote Your Brand
- Building Engagement through High Impact Leadership
- Building Success through Resilience and Persistence
- Leading with Vision and Purpose
- Maximize Your Visibility with LinkedIn
- Leadership that Gets Results
- Driving for Career Success
As part of the series, all execMBA candidates have an individual executive coach. This experience is also personalized – students may focus their coaching calls on a variety of personal and professional goals, including leadership development, career transition, time management, and communication.
Friday Night Lights Keynote Speakers
In tandem with the PAS, we’ve also partnered with Speaki2i to launch a series of dinnertime keynote workshops and moderated conversations for current students and alumni. These value-added presentations will be interactive and positioned to provide unique and cutting-edge content and skills to participants. Examples of sessions include Tough Calls: Handling Difficult Conversations and Speaking on Your Feet: Successful Public Speaking when Things Don’t Go as Planned.
This update to the execMBA curriculum was carefully designed over the course of many months, and we are excited to have officially launched the series. Preliminary feedback from students has been very positive! Keep an eye out for more updates on the PAS and the kinds of activities it includes in future blog posts.
