We have to say, execMBA class of 2016 is a pretty phenomenal class! When we settled on 33 exceptional applicants to admit to the program, we wondered whether the group of students would be too large to really bond and connect with one another. After Day 1 of orientation, we could tell that wouldn’t be a problem.
We began on Tuesday evening with an optional campus tour, hosted by the Mizzou Tour Team.
On the first day of orientation, our class of 2016 spent time getting to know each other with teambuilding activities.
On Thursday (Day 2), students got settled in a more traditional (-ish) classroom setting. The first two classes they take in the program are Business Analytics, led by Dr. Ton Stam, and Organizational Behavior, led by Dr. Mary Beth Marrs.
On Thursday night, we hosted a dinner at Les Bourgeois Vineyards, during which students met the execMBA faculty members who’ll accompany them on their 21-month journey.
Friday brought more class time, which included some surprise activities for the students! If you want more detail than that, you’ll have to join our class of 2017. We were also lucky to be hosted for lunch by the dean of the Trulaske College of Business, Joan Gabel. That evening, the execMBA Alumni Association hosted a mixer for our new students to network with current students and alumni.
On Saturday, our exhausted but excited class of 2016 wrapped up their first on-campus residency with a check-out session, led by Executive Development coach Doug Waltman.
We are so excited to see our new cohort deepen their bond and thrive over the next five semesters!
